Questions
One page load. The tracker also records Core Web Vitals, clicks, scrolls, errors and engagement heartbeats, and none of those count towards your allowance. In practice they outnumber pageviews by roughly eight to one, so an allowance goes considerably further than the number of events we store.
Yes. We keep collecting everything your site sends whatever your plan; your plan sets how far back the date range can reach. Move up a plan and the earlier data is there immediately, not re-gathered.
Two panels are the exception, on every plan including the paid ones. Journeys and the Web Vitals breakdown read individual sessions rather than daily summaries, so they are limited to the most recent 60 days. Each says so on its own page.
Not from this page. Wix handles downgrades and annual-to-monthly switches through your subscription: cancel the current one in Wix Billing, then choose the plan you want. We disable those buttons here rather than let you click something that would not work.
Yes. No card, nothing to cancel, and no trial that expires. Free includes 1,000 pageviews as a one-time allowance rather than a monthly one, 7 days of history, and everything on this page not marked as a paid feature. When the 1,000 are used the app stops collecting until you upgrade. Choosing Free takes one click and never contacts Wix billing.
You do not. Installing the app installs the tracker.
When you add RUM, it calls the Wix Embedded Scripts API and puts the tracker on every page of your published site by itself. There is nothing to copy and nothing to paste into custom code.
The Install page shows whether that worked, and carries a switch to turn collection off and on again. The script tag printed on that page is there so you can see what was added; pasting it into your site as well would run two copies and is worth avoiding.
About a minute after a real visit.
Beacons are buffered as they arrive and a scheduled job reads the buffer, builds sessions and updates the daily totals once every minute. The Install page has an "Is it working?" panel that reads arriving events and refreshes itself every 15 seconds, which is the fastest way to confirm the first visit landed.
Almost always because the visit was not counted as a real one.
Visits from the machine the app is hosted on, and from private or local network addresses, are deliberately excluded, so testing from inside your own network will not register. Visitors who send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal are skipped entirely, before anything is sent.
Open your published site from a phone on mobile data, or from a different network, and watch the Install page.
Yes. Each site you install on gets its own record, its own key and its own settings, and its data is kept separate. You reach each one through that site's dashboard in Wix.
Page URLs on your own site, referrer and any UTM parameters, timing measurements, JavaScript errors, browser, device type, screen size, language, approximate location derived from the IP address, and a random per-visitor identifier.
It does not collect names, email addresses, form values or payment details, and it reads nothing from inside your Wix account. The full statement is on the Install page and on Settings and privacy.
Not in full, by default. The last part of the address is zeroed before anything is written, so 86.14.22.137 is stored as 86.14.22.0. That is enough for approximate location and not enough to identify a device.
The masking switch is on Settings and privacy. Turning it off stores complete addresses from that point on, and turning it back on affects only what is collected afterwards.
Collection stops immediately and nothing new is recorded. Your existing history is not deleted: it stays, and it continues to age out under the normal retention period.
If you reinstall on the same site, the app picks up the same record and your history is there waiting. If you want it removed sooner than retention would remove it, ask us and we will delete it.
Yes, but it is off by default and turning it on takes one more step.
RUM does not show a consent banner of its own, so it has nothing to wait for unless you connect it to yours. Turn on "Wait for consent" in Settings and privacy, then have your banner call window.rumrunner.consent() when a visitor agrees. Until that call happens nothing is recorded.
With the setting on and no banner wired up, collection stops altogether. That is what the setting means, and it is why it ships off.
They set the reporting period for the page you are on. There is no custom date picker; those four are the whole set.
Because a percentage calculated from a handful of visits is not a measurement.
At low traffic one visitor can move a rate by twenty points or more, so where a figure would mislead the app shows the counts and withholds the percentage, and says why. Journeys ranks a route only once at least two sessions have taken it. Funnels show counts from the first session but hold back the conversion rate until five sessions have entered.
They measure different things and exclude different traffic.
RUM drops bots, Do Not Track visitors and traffic from private networks before counting, and it counts a session as ended after 30 minutes of inactivity. Any tool making different choices will produce different totals from the same visits. Treat the trend as the useful part rather than expecting two tools to agree on a number.
Not yet. The Export button on the bar at the top of each page is not connected to anything and is shown switched off rather than left to fail silently. Ask us if you need a copy of your data and we will provide one.
